Behold the land where vikings ride skeletal steeds into battle, and winged, fire-breathing metal griffins navigate the cosmos! Bask in the glow of fur-wearing barbarians and scantily clad she-devils! Fight along side massive robots of destruction against the relentless hordes of hell! See art inspired by the imagery of classic metal album covers. This show will melt the flesh from your bones and make you want to bust out a ripping guitar solo! It will make your eyeballs bleed and your skull explode.
The METAL MASTERS show will feature paintings, prints, drawings, and sculpture inspired by heavy metal album art of the 80′s.

CARRBORO, NC (November 27, 2009) — Wootini Gallery is excited to announce METAL MASTERS, a group exhibition of new works by accomplished artists brought together by special guest curator David K. Rose (aka DKR). David is a painter, designer, musician, Guitar Hero artist, and wrestling producer now based in Los Angeles, CA; Wootini represents much of David’s art collection in North Carolina, David’s home state. The theme of this show is best summarized by Manowar, “Everyone of us has heard the call, Brothers of True Metal proud and standing tall, We know the power within us has brought us to this hall, There’s magic in the metal, There’s magic in us all.”
